The first Australian p53 workshop will be held on Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 November 2012 at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Melbourne

Outline

The powerful tumour suppressor protein, p53, has been at the core of cancer biology for over three decades. Research interests in p53 span from basic molecular studies, through to translational and clinical applications. Recent developments in the p53 field have extended our knowledge of p53 function beyond its vital role as a stress response protein, to involvement in key physiological systems. 

The First Australian p53 Workshop at Peter Mac aims to establish a unified p53 community in Australia and to map the major p53 interests of related groups. This workshop with feature selected eminent international speakers, including professors Moshe Oren, David Lane and Laura Attardi as well as national clinicians and researchers, students and post-doc researchers and representatives from industry.
